    Wells Mountain Initiative (WMI) is accepting applications for its WMI Scholars Program 2026. WMI supports community-focused students who face significant financial barriers to university education in their home countries/regions.

    Who is offering this scholarship?

    Wells Mountain Initiative is a non-profit organisation that supports education and community development. The Scholars Program focuses on students who combine strong academic potential with a commitment to service and long-term impact in their communities.

    Eligibility

    • Be 35 years or younger as of 1 August 2026.
    • Have completed secondary school (or be in your final year) with above-average results.
    • Be applying to a university OR currently enrolled in your first undergraduate degree/diploma.
    • Intend to study in your home country/region and plan to live/work there after graduation.
    • Have volunteer experience and commit to completing 100 hours of community service each year during studies.

    • Clear personal photo
    • Completed 2026 application form
    • Essay and personal statement (topics as per application)
    • Two recommendation letters
    • Official school transcripts and grading keys
    • National exam results and grading keys
    • Tertiary transcripts and grading keys (if applicable)

    Common mistakes to avoid

    • Submitting an incomplete application (missing grading keys or documents).
    • Applying for study in excluded regions (USA/Canada/Australia/UK/Western Europe).
    • Ignoring the requirement to study in your home country/region and commit to community service.
    • Paying “application fees” to third parties — WMI states there are no fees to apply.
